Rev Angela Palacious - first woman to become Deacon and priest of the Anglican Diocese of The Bahamas

Cynthia “mother” Pratt- first woman to become a deputy Prime Minister

Anatol Rodgers- first woman to be the Principal of Government high school

Missouri Sherman- Peter - First woman to become a consul general

Allerdyce Strachan- first woman to become the superintendent of the Royal Bahamas Police force.

Nettica Symonette- first woman to become a hotel proprietor (Casuarinas hotel)

Ruby Ann Darling- the first woman to register to vote

Tonique Williams- Darling - first Bahamian to win an individual gold medal in track and field at the 2004 Olympic Games
